In this part, you will practice finding the right meaning of news headlines and their relationship to news content. To obtain information related to an event that has news value, please refer to the following illustration based on the question whether all these events have news value:

In this second learning activity, we will start as in part 1 , which is about headlines or news titles.   • When is it happening? The day and date
  • Why is it happening? It is about a process, a reason, cause and effect.

REMEMBER
Headlines often use a NOUN PHRASE, that is, a phrase without a verb: Poor Service at Supermarkets Best Strategies for New Tax Year / Thai Protesters Parade There are also some VERB CHANGES. The simple tenses are preferred to continuous or perfect forms and auxiliary verbs are dropped in the passive: Teachers Protest Pay Cuts (they are protesting) Underground Strike Started Today (the strike has started today) The INFINITIVE TENSE is used to talk about the future: President to Open New Art Gallery New Player to be hired by NBA.

It is clear that the relationship between the title of the news and the main event (the main element of the news) located in the first paragraph. The second paragraph is a closely related background with paragraph one. Well, now we practice to connect the main elements news with news background.
